About us

Meno travelled to the wondrous land of India for the first time in 2007, where he learned the art of flute making, taught by Indian instrument makers, Iranian travellers and German colleagues. Back in Europe, he discovered reed bushes that resembled the bamboo that grows in India. He took two small sticks of reed, one with a few holes in it, and from the other he made a simplified mouthpiece that resembled the saxophone. The sound of this little marvel amazed the people who heard it, and so he set to work tuning this thing properly, filing the mouthpiece more precisely, using selected bamboo to make the shape more and more like the saxophone. The Wooba Sax was born!
