The making of the bamboo and wooden sax

Bamboo has to dry slowly, only after several months of drying period  the wood is protected against warping or even cracking. After that the bamboo is treated against worms and bugs, only then we can start with the processing.

Also the treatment of the wooden center piece has to be done slowly and always controlled in order to ensure best quality and high stability. The center piece is multiply oiled to  achieve high sealing.

The current generation of the Woobasax has a conical shape, it means that the diameter of each instrument increases  steadily with the length. Compared to cylindrical-called straight-reedinstruments, which have more like a clarinet sound, this conical shape helps to produce full saxophone sound characteristic.
